God Bless ... Saez

Before reading this, You should know that the following statements are not proved and maybe total nonsense (that's why we call them rumours, isn't it?).

Amandine II:

"Amandine II" is a song on "Jours Étranges"; some people insist it deals with Damien's ex-girlfriend Amandine, who allegedly died from heroin ( J'ai perdu l'amour de ma vie/ J'ai perdu mon ange, mon bébé = I've lost the love of my life, my angel, my baby ; C'est juste qu'il me manque/ Mon héroïne = It's just that I miss it/her, my heroin(e)).

On the other hand, there are lots of people who think Amandine isn't dead and that this song is about taking drugs and/or Amandine but not about a drug addicted Amandine. A few claim that the song hasn't anything to do with drugs at all, but that héroïne in this context simply means heroine and that Damien misses Amandine, i.e. his heroine.

Défoncé, Défonce-Moi:

In "Défoncé, Défonce-Moi" Damien sings about having a romance with a man, but it's not sure whether the person who this song is about (namely the "story-teller", in this case Damien) is male or female, i.e. the person in whose situation Damien puts himself.
If the narrator is meant to be male there are more questions about Damien's sexual orientation...

Marta:

It is rumored that Marta (the girl from the song of the same title) was Damien's first love, who commited suicide when she was a teenager, probably because he had dumped her.

Drugs and alcohol:

Damien had to quit one of his concerts (Brussels/April 22, 2005) ahead of time because of a mysterious malaise. He performed a few songs lying on the stage and suddenly left. The "official" explanation is that it happened because of fatigue, but Damien had five free days before this concert, so this suggests that Damien had consumed drugs. After the concert some fans went to the merchandising stall in order to buy posters - to spit on them and a few also reclaimed their money. Edit: At the October concerts 2005 Damien apologised to his fans about the incident at the concert in Brussels on the grounds that he had drunken too much Tequila on the eve of the concert.

Supposedly, Damien Saez was jailed by reason of possessing drugs.

At some concerts, Damien Saez gives the impression of being off his head and rather bemused, having red-eyes, forgetting his own lyrics, drinking alcohol and often disappearing behind the stage for minutes without any explanation.

Katarzyna:

According to lots of people (and, allegedly, an interview), the women in the videoclip "Sexe" and on the DVD of the Limited Edition of "Debbie" is Katarzyna, Damien's ex-girlfriend.

Damien's brothers:

Théo and Nathan, two guys Damien thanks in his book "À Ton Nom" and in the booklet of "Jours Étranges", could be his younger half-brothers, born in 1991 and 1994. I also read this in another forum, where one person affirmed to know Damien's brother Théo.

A la Pologne, à Mariola, au Viêtnam, à Diep, à Thanh, à la France, à Caroline.
A mon père, à l'Algèrie, à Katarzyna, à Pierre, Théo et Nathan.

A ma mère.

Jours Étranges:

Théo and Nathan (who have the same rather uncommon surname as Damien's stepfather) also acted in a short film called "Frater" by Thibaut Piotrowski which was shot in Dijon; by the way, Antoine Rogge assisted the director and Franck Phan composed the soundtrack. Interestingly, the younger one of the two brothers - Nathan - is born in April 1994, just like Damien once mentioned.

Damien's stepfather:

After making several inquiries, I arrived at the conclusion that a man called Pierre Cholbi could be Damien's stepfather. First, Damien said his stepfather is a director for documentaries at the channel France 3. Well, that's right, a certain Pierre Cholbi works for France 3 Bourgogne ( Burgundy, a region in France). Dijon, the former hometown of Damien's family, is the capital of Burgundy. Second, Pierre Cholbi wrote the lyrics of "Tu Y Crois". Being asked who Pierre Cholbi was, Damien answered "A... friend of mine". And third, Damien said his stepfather is Spanish-Algerian. So there's this page. In one of the chapters, Pierre Cholbi talks about his origins. Here's a rough translation of the most important parts:

"I am a Cholbi, conceived in Algeria in 1956 (Pierre Cholbi, in fact, is a descendant of pieds-noirs, which is a term for the former European population of North-Africa), in Affreville (Khemis Miliana), and born in France. My father is Spanish, and my mother has her seeds in Italy and Brittany. I'm married to an Algerian (Damien's mother is Algerian) and one of my sons has blue eyes... (so one of Damien's brothers should have blue eyes).

Roméo Et Juliette / Amandine I:

It is said that Damien recorded these two songs on an answering machine in about 1994, therefore their quality is really bad.

A film and a novel:

Damien said in an interview that he took part in a film in New York and that he is/was working on a somehow autobiographical novel - hopefully we will ever get to see those two things.
